Two Americans Among Top Finishers At Kona

Americans Tim O'Donnell and Andy Potts put up two gutsy performances at the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona this weekend.  Tim O'Donnell finished an impressive 3rd overall while Andy matched last years finish in 4th overall.

Each took a different strategy during the race to get there.  Tim took the lead on portions of the bike, pushing the pace, showing his determination, while Andy steadily knocked off competitors over the marathon finish.  

O Donnell led through parts of the bike portion Saturday

Tim finished in 8:18:50 behind Germany's Jan Frodeno at 8:14:40 and Andreas Raelert in 8:17:43.  Andy Potts went from 10th at T2 to fourth overall. Watch his post race interview with Triathlete magazine.
